There are two superb fishing lakes to choose from.
Walters Lake is a purpose built commercial Match Lake which has been established for over 10 years and has now matured into an ideal pleasure and match fishery.
Pochard Lake is a 11.5 acre specimen lake, well stocked with both Mirror and Common Carp, some of which weigh over 35lb.
Please note that anyone fishing in fresh water in England and Wales, must have a valid Rod Licence. Rod licences are only available from The Post Office and can be bought online or in person at the Post Office.
These will be checked periodically on the bank.
Note to all anglers…
Pochard Lake has dense weed from June through to September.
Anglers must gear up and seek advice from staff.
No particle mix, loose feed bollies or pellet only.
A purpose built commercial Match Lake that has been established for over 10 years and has now matured into an ideal pleasure and match fishery.
The lake, approximately 4.5 acres and consisting of 3 lanes with a total of 55 pegs, has been designed in such a way that every peg fishes towards an island and hedge planting has divided the pegs into 2’s. Even on very busy days it seems as though you have your own little lake. Please check with the Waterside Cafe/office which pegs are open for use.
The fish stocks have come on over the years, mostly Carp between 8-14lbs with some fish into higher weights. There is also a good head of Tench to 7lb+, Bream to 8lb+, some lovely Roach and Rudd up to 1½ lb+ and the ever present Perch.
When the Carp go a bit quieter in the winter months, the silver fish have a chance to show themselves more and we have had several match weights of 30-40lbs of Roach and Skimmers, even in the depths of the winter.
The venue opens at 8am with fishing until last light (April-October) and 4pm (November-March).
Tickets are available from the on site Waterside Café or office. Please make use of the café for hot drinks and food.
Please book in at the Waterside Café BEFORE starting to fish and please make sure you are aware of, and comply with the fishing rules for Walters Lake.
Pochard Lake is a 11.5 acre Specimen Lake for exclusive use of residents and owners staying in the Lake Pochard holiday lodges. The lake is well stocked with both Mirror and Common Carp, some in excess of 30lb and at least 10 over 35lb.
The lake is very weedy from spring to autumn. This can prove quite challenging at times but would still not be classed as a hard venue. We would ask that you only fish Pochard Lake if you are an experienced Carp angler. Lake Pochard Management reserves the right to ask you to fish the match lake if your tackle is not of a sufficient standard.
Fishing must not commence before your check-in time of 3pm and your swim must be vacated on your departure day by your check-out time of 10am.
Fishing charges for 2020 – There will be a one off charge of £10 per lodge to fish Pochard Lake and the Green Lane of the match lake (Walters Lake). This is payable on check-in. If you would like to fish the Red, White or Blue lanes on Walters Lake you will need to purchase a ticket from the cafe at £10 per person per day (8am to last light during the summer months, to 4pm during the winter).
