Lake Pochard Holiday Lodges

Walters Lake

Waterside Café

There are two superb fishing lakes to choose from.

Walters Lake is a purpose built commercial Match Lake that has been established 9 years and has now matured into an ideal pleasure and match fishery.

Pochard Lake is a 10 acre specimen hunting lake well stocked with both Mirror and Common Carp some of which are very large, weighing in at over 30lb.

Please note that anyone fishing in fresh water in England and Wales,  must have a valid Rod Licence.  Rod licences are only available from The Post Office and can be bought online or in person at the Post Office.

Walters Lake

A purpose built commercial Match Lake that has been established 9 years and has now matured into an ideal pleasure and match fishery.

The lake, approximately 3 acres and consisting of 4 lanes with a total of 73 pegs, has been designed in such a way that every peg fishes towards an island and hedge planting has divided the pegs into 2’s. Even on very busy days it seems as though you have your own little lake.

The fish stocks have come on a storm, mostly Carp between 5-8lbs with some fish in low doubles.  There is also a good head of Tench to 7lb+ and Bream to 8lb+ with some lovely Roach and Rudd up to 1½ lb+.

Match weights have been spectacular over the years with many weights of over 300lb and a lake record weight of 446lb. When the Carp go a bit quieter in the winter months, the silver fish have a chance to show themselves more and we have had several match weights of 30-40lbs of Roach and Skimmers, even in the depths of the winter.

The venue opens at 7am with fishing until 7.30pm (March-October) and 5pm (November-February).

Tickets are available from the on site 60 seater café (open seven days a week) which offers a wide selection of home cooked meals, the famous English breakfast and hot and cold drinks.

Please book in a the Waterside Café BEFORE starting to fish and please make sure you are aware of, and comply with the fishing rules for Walters Lake.

Pochard Lake

Pochard Lake is a 10 acre Specimen Lake for exclusive use of residents and owners staying in the Lake Pochard holiday lodges. The lake is well stocked with both Mirror and Common Carp and some 12 fish are well in excess of 30lb, with at least 5 over 35lb.

The lake is very weedy and this can prove quite challenging at times but would still not be classed as a hard venue. We would ask that you only fish Pochard Lake if you are an experienced Carp angler.

Fishing must not commence before your check-in time of 3pm and your swim must be vacated on your departure day by your check-out time of 10am.

There is no charge for fishing Pochard Lake if you are a resident or owner but please inform the office on check-in that you are planning to fish. Please make sure you are aware of, and comply with the fishing rules for Pochard Lake.
