FISHING

About Lake Pochard

A disused gravel pit of approximately 10 acres, Lake Pochard has been re landscaped with a group of small islands to one end. Depths vary greatly from 3 metres to less than half a meter. Weed growth is very dense and in many places grows solidly top to bottom in 3 metres of water. Although fish stocks are moderately high the fishing is not easy as location due to the weed growth can be difficult. However, if you can find the fish they are not difficult to catch. One fisherman caught nine fish in one day including seven over 25lb and another had six in one day including one over 30lb, four over 25lb and one low 20lb. Due to the very thick weed we would strongly advise breakaway leads to stand any chance of landing a fish. More advice is freely given when on site.
